I loved his big ole catalog as a kid.

They made everything some good some bad. I loved to go into the closeout building.

I spent many hours as a kid reading the Herters catalog and wishing.

As a kid we had tons of Herters stuff around the house because my ma worked for a factory that made stuff for them so she got a deal on it all

Wish I still had it all but sadly lost a lot of it when the old place burned down

The man was a MASTER marketer. You would think he lived the life of a mountain man. “Guide Tested” on most stuff. Still have his guide book- effective harvest but a lot not legal most places.

Most stuff was durable which is why you see it for sale today, 50-80 yrs later. I have 2 of his Duck and Goose Skiffs. Well made and very well designed for marsh hunting.

I still have a few Herter's traps.

I do too.His No.3's were all right coyote traps,had soft metal that coyote could distort if they fought it enough but they worked.I really liked his No.4's for beaver,good strong springs.
