Still waiting for Starlink to send us the equipment. Signed up back in March. That’s strange, I had my equipment within two weeks of sending the payment.

I suspect Starlink is filling orders in lower latitudes first. Starlink is the future and the GOVT is still funding running hard lines in rural areas. Happy to hear Starlink is working for you, it will be what I will be on soon. After having satellite internet for the last 25 years I would jump at the chance to have a hardwired, land-based system.. Starlink may cut the latency involved with geostationary satellite systems but I anticipate lots of problems as your signal is transferred from one satellite to the next as it comes into view.

Yeah, patiently waiting - apparently they are targeting coverage in our area in mid to late 2021 per the info they provide when I login to our account.

Our local phone provider makes you buy TV and internet to get their services, if you drop the landline they make you boost your internet speed so the fix is in there your paying the same no matter what. If I could find a cheap internet provider it’s TV capability I’d jump on it.

I would also jump at the chance to have a hardwired land based system, I'm less than 2 miles from Fiber but they wont run it for me. Plus I am building quite a ways off the road, even if they ran it down the road running it in would be very expensive.

We have AT&T fiber optic and we are over 1/2 mile from the county road. They ran it overhead from the county road and had to set 2 new poles as distance between poles is shorter running the optic line. They didn't charge for the run in as we signed up during a no charge for installation. The electric company is now installing it as well here.
When we first got here satellite was the only thing available to us at $100 a month. Heavy rain would put us out of service as did snow when we lived in Illinois. Line of sight was our most dependable in Illinois and cheapest as well. Heavy snow or rain was a factor with it as well though.
