Quite a few red oaks dropping their acorns around here. We don't have any white oak though.

Just a few red acorns down from the wind and rain. The squirrels don't seem to be working them yet

I haven’t noticed the acorns but the soybeans here are turning their fall off green color and it’s not just due to lack of rain.

I saw a field of corn that had been combined in late July. It was in SE North Carolina. Several large chicken houses on the farm. Maybe he had some need for feed.

It is what heat does, things grow and mature faster, domestic crops as well. We will have corn silage being chopped here about the 23rd or so of August, which is about 2-3 weeks earlier than a normal average or early average year. We were very, very dry for about 3-4 months, just enough rain to keep things alive. We have had about 8 inches the last 3 weeks and everything exploded. Fields that were looking clean are now full of tall lambs quarter and pig weed.

Took a walk behind my cabin abit ago.
I have lots of huge burr oak and noticed lots of acorns have been dropped. Real small also.

About 2 weeks early.
With the drought and lack of crops n browse, deer will be hurting bad if it's a bad winter.

Normal date for burr oak to drop up north here. And we are in a two year drought.
RED Squirrels were cutting 2 weeks ago before they turned brown, they know when they are sweet tasting.

Red oak in the yard are starting to drop the small ones. I have a few trees that are just loaded up with big acorns I am planning on doing a bit of scarifiing with the dozer in a few spots to get some new trees coming up in a few years.

A lot of early acorn drop is because the tree is stressed and the acorns are being aborted. Yall gonna have a poor acorn crop this fall

Yes, I have noticed the same thing with the white oak acorns in my neighborhood.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Have a Burr Oak, (White Oak) that the squirrels have been cutting pretty hard, but the nuts are on the tree, not on the ground. Some Walnuts dropping kinda early.

I wouldn't say our crop is poor. To my surprise the oaks are loaded here this year.

Overloaded trees will drop acorns early too to alleviate stress.
