I thought I had an elderberry tree along my driveway but it just didn’t look quite right. I think it is a Saskatoon Serviceberry tree. Anyone eat these? Google seems to think I should.

I have many shrubs with these berries. Birds love and depend on them. If watered enough, they are sweet and wonderful. I'm sure they would make amazing jam.

Here we call them June berries, it's amazing that one tree they can be real sweet, and the tree next to it can be kind of bitter.

Hands down there are no berries better suited for baked pies.
Friend has a farm and does 200,000 quarts a season, then processes the 11 other months.

Wild ones didn’t produce this year with the drought. Picked these at a buddy’s place who planted a few rows. Hazelnuts love this weather and the trees are loaded. Will pick a few bushels this year.

You folks weren’t kidding! My wife made jam from the last 2 gallons and I think this better than even strawberry. Have to keep a better eye on these next year.
