I use the good stuff. Actually switched to full synthetic several years ago and haven't blown a saw up since.
It finally started to look at it this way. If you don't use it much, it doesn't cost much more to use the good stuff. If you use it a lot, you need the extra protection of the good stuff .
Considering that Stihl doubles their warranty time if you by their oil with a new saw should make ya think. I use mostly Stihl oil in my saws and weed eaters. If I cant get that, Castrol GTX is fine as well. As I don't cut a lot in the summer month, I put some Stabil in the fuel as well. No need in the winter as I go through the stuff pretty fast then
Let's go Brandon
"Shall not comply" with morons who don't understand "shall not infringe."

If not mistaken, the Stihl 2 stroke oil has fuel stabilizer in it. I will read a bottle I have in the work truck tomorrow.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!
Commercial fished crab pots for about four years with a 2-stroke Yahama. Used WalMart two cycle oil with no problems. Engine had oil injection thus I didn't have to mix it.
I used to get Yamalube bulk and ran it in snowmachines, saws, whatever was two stroke. When they quit selling it in bulk around here went Castrol, have ran a little bit of Walmart brand, but know a couple guys who blew up snowmachines running it. I siezed up a saw, no idea if was the oil or not, I've siezed them running Stihl or other oil when they start sucking air, but I quit running the Walmart stuff. Castrol isn't much more expensive when I buy it at Napa by the case, and I used to pick up a couple to three cases a winter when I had a 2 stroke snowmachine. Running a four stroke now, but been running Castrol in my saws for the last few years, takes a long time to go through a case of oil in a power saw.
By the way, Yamalube stinks. Never bothered me, but I got comments if someone was following me when I ran it in my snowmachine.
