Fletch. Great looking picture. You need to use that Picture for your Xmas post card next year. A excellent job you did on your fur. I wish I had about $10,000 I could play with I would be buying a lot of Fur like you had in your picture. I am just to old to take the risk now. Marty

Alot depends on your perspective. How much of a profit do folks make on a cruise or vacation? How much of a profit do folks make bass fishing? If you're buying the latest turkey camo, slate call, or newest choke tube how much ate folks saving vs buying a Butterball from Kroger? It's nice to get rewarded for the hard work that trapping entails but sometimes that reward comes with only the satisfaction of the work itself. That happens when you love the work you do.

Well said. Sure I wish there could be more profit made, and will remain hopeful that the fur market rebounds. Other than the great points you made, I also feel like it is important that we continue to trap and find outlets for selling our hard-earned catch. I just try and limit travel as best I can. If we hang up our steel, and don't continue to endure, then the anti's will find it all too easy to put an end to our way of life.

From that sale it would appear 2 and half rats equals a coyote. You could maybe trap rats and get more money and have all that fun. Pretty traditional trapping strategy to focus on what is paying. Even furbuyers and Auctions routinely encourage this. Just Sayin!

Maybe he'll have more rats next year if he keeps the predators in check.
Its called fur management.Managing furbearers is not done solely on the price of the fur.
If that was the case many RTL's would be thin on furbearers of all sorts.
