They seem to cater to the fruits and nuts granola crowd. Other than that I haven't had any experience with one since about 1980.

A friend of mine has had a few of them, they have one now and swear they are the best! Personally I wouldn’t own one

Son has had a couple. Timing belts around 70G used to be common but I don't know about current models. They are very capable in crappy weather with decent tires. And they are reliable. Just don't forget the Bernie and Coexist decals.

Watch the maintenance intervals. Coworker learned the hard way. Timing belt needs replaced at 100k, he put it off, blew it at 120k. Wrecked the engine. Seems to be a common issue. Not really a problem with the cars, more the owners.

We had a 2008 Forester. Great car, especially during winter. The only reason we got rid of it is that the family got too big. I would get another one, for the wife.

Great trapping cars for long line mink lines in the past, great gas mileage and went just about anywhere.

I used one on a short land line one year, manual tranny. Went everywhere but kind of tight on room. Had to make sure I had lots of wiper fluid for the bloody windshield when the cargo hauler leaked! LOL

The few people I know that have them absolutely love them. The uncle in law an avid hunter has a forester, a couple buddies have had wrx, 1 friend had a legacy another uncle recently bought a forester and I was shocked at the ground clearance.
I always wanted a WRX STI. They are great tough little cars do great in bad weather dirt roads (washboard roads too) and rocky roads.

Better live beside a Subaru dealer unless you like driving hours for maintenance.

Couldn't find that but they do make donations to ASPCA...which appears to be a different organization?

Looks like Subaru will donate $250 to an organization of your choice (upon purchase of a new vehicle). Wonder if that includes the FTA or Sportsmans Alliance smile

Yep, I was wrong, it was ASPCS, not HSUS. Different sides of the same coin pretty much. Last I looked, you had to pick from their choices, ASPCA, meals on wheels, make a wish or Nat'l parks foundation.
