My '02 has about 287,000 on it. Had to put ball joints on the front and replace the drive shaft, but she's still ticking.

Well my wife’s 2003 I bought 2 years ago has the same issue with the frame, it’s beyond repair. I got ahold of the guy that bought my 2004 he’s coming to get it tomorrow, got $2200 for it! Now I have a cap left I guess I’ll put it on Facebook market place to see if I can sell it. I still see a lot of Tacoma’s around here that it would fit.

I wanted one but a buddy that has one said it rides about as good as a Jeep. Any truth to that? He said it’s a great truck for everyday driving, just not something you’d want to take a long trip in.
I’ll be up for a new truck soon. Got 435K on mine now.

The first year I got my 04 I took a trip to North Carolina, it wasn’t too bad.

i'd say thats absolutely accurate for all---Gen 1, 2 and 3's. in my opinion the ride on something like F150 is super smooth in comparison to any Tacoma I've owned or been in. If that is what you like, you likely won't be excited with the feel of a Tacoma. They aren't exactly great for ergonomics/fit/feel of the interior---i usually feel a touch confined in them. i've been on a number of long road trips in them over the years but anymore they wouldnt be my first choice for a cross country trip either. Gotta remember one of the primary followings of the tacoma is in the off road world similar to that of a jeep. if you want rugged long term reliability especially off road thats what they bring to the table
