The Flint and Hooch probably catch a good bit that runs into the gulf before the rain crosses over to the Atlantic side.

Unique bit about my front yard. Rain that falls in my yard goes east to the Atlantic if it lands across the track in front of me it goes south to the gulf.

You're sitting on the Ga Divide!

Yep, and I bet you can guess which set of tracks. The old Macon-Atlanta line.

I’m jealous of your open water beaver trapping. Keep the pics coming! You bothering to do anything with the fur in today’s market?

Also curious if your turtles/reptiles are out this time of year?

I don’t think our turtles and reptiles ever truly hole up. I’m not Swamp, but in the SW part of the State they are out.

Yes...on the fur market. Beavers pelts will be sold green frozen. Could sell otters same way but i only have a few so Im gonna put them up. Have a few bobcats too. Gonna put those up too. All will be sold to Groenwold on their Ga buying route in March.

Also save the castors and oil sacs. I trade them raw & frozen for trapping supplies annually.

All reptiles active somewhat here except on the days/nights into the 30s and lower.. As temps warm, into 60s, more turtles moving around. Once it reaches 70s= snakes. Gators are slow but as water temps increase late March on so will sightings.

I got an edjumacated rodent on one of my jobs frown . Going to have to go in and string some cable on that pond this week. Looked at another today that looks like a tough one. That one the owner is gung ho to learn trapping so I may be doing some teaching. He may even be joining us here as I pointed him here since y’all nice folks know such much more than I.

Ice was still melting up here today and already the frogs are going at it tonight but these frogs here seem to never hibernate, chirp and carry on all winter.

One more today...another brood female at a crossover.

Pulled all beaver traps. River is spilling rapidly over into river swamp. Creeks, ditches, and swamp are running backwards. Traps that were only a few inches deep yesterday were 2 feet deep this morning. Gonna be about a week or so before I can get back in there.

One of the access roads this morning. About chest deep in road. Too much for the Honda Pioneer....

Negative....that's way too much work.

It would be more portage than paddling. A 200 yd flooded stretch...a 100 yd pine hill...another 200 yd flooded stretch....etc, etc. And all the beaver locations are 6 feet deep

My guess they will be working that pine hill you mentioned. If there is any way for you to get there. I have trapped rivers here in the midwest. During high water find the high ground. I always did it by boat.
