Any New York Trappers attend yesterday's Wild Fur Auction in Herkimer, N.Y. ?
Heard through the Grapevine that prices were fairly reasonable for the current fur market.
Can anyone that attended confirm how things went.

I heard that were no bids on the first weeks rats as they supposedly aren't prime enough.....

Doing better than rat prices, that is for sure.
I've been hearing a rumor about upward movement in rat prices.

My source tells me the rat average at this auction was in the $4.00+ range with the top being $6.00+ There are rumors of a short catch here in New York. Allegedly around 500 rats sold at this auction. w

Everyone's prices were kept private by them and the buyer and I didn't have time to discuss pricing with people. I was busy helping carry unsold fur in, sold fur out, and tending to other issues. My fur was bagged and sent with buyer at the end of the day for a check that will be sent later. I didn't hear anyone complain and I know several said they were happy with prices. I do know 1 guy that said his average was around $10 on green beaver, unsure of the mix. Another said his high was $15 on green beaver. Did Trevor Barnes have any other fur buying stops in New York State yesterday or was your place his only one ? w

No BOCO, I didn't have a single item of fur to sell except for one lonely buck mink. I wasn't driving two hours for that. Waiting for spring breakup to trap rats, beaver, and otter. w

People waiting in their vehicles at times. I'm trying to get him to make a handful of stops around the state.
