For the first time in over a decade I will get to forgo that job. I have scraped and boarded at least a thousand coon in the month of Feb. since 2009. I used to refer to it as fleshing Feb. but this year I turned a corner and have renamed it fishing Feb. I was just talking to my wife and said it has been a great change. Fishing is much better on a guy's hands than a fleshing knife. LLL

Have you ever used hardware cloth on the tails? I put 3 staples in the cloth and can just pull it off when dry. Really saves the fingers and lays a tail flat out. LLL

i agree with LL on the tails... only i use plastic gutter guard and 3 push pins.

I have tried cardboard without success, but I’ve never gone the hardware cloth route. At this stage, I don’t catch enough to justify the expense especially when prices are dismal. I appreciate the tip though
