Trespass fees is looking like the way to go, I’ve been looking at unit 6 and 8, hoping to make some calls after we draw somewhere and try and find a rancher that’ll let us hunt without breaking the bank.

I called the main office in Cheyenne yesterday to make sure how the PP currently works.

Used to be (thru 2018) that when you applied there was an optional check box one could mark to receive a PP if your were NOT successful in the drawing. The PP money was taken out of your refund.

Starting in 2019 the state has done away with that. Yes, you do need to wait until July when PP's go on sale to purchase one for elk, deer, or antelope.

I have always hunted public land in WY. It would be informative to here what some of the land owners charge for a trespass fee.
