My wife has baby sitter a kid since he was born and he is now 10, He has road along with me on the trap line since he was 3 and helped me make sets. This year he decided that he wanted to do everything himself. I use Jake traps and he is not big enough to depress the springs so I do that for him but everything else he does, from pick the spot to placing the trap and lures. Last week we set a spot and he caught a coyote. This week we set 4 traps each in an old gravel pit. as of today he has caught 1 coyote 2 possums and A bobcat in the pit. And I have only caught 1 coon and a gray fox in the pit. I am very proud of him but this beating me trapping every week is getting hard to take.He loves that he can beat me trapping and loves to rub it in.

Awesome!

I helped a kid five or so years ago, but once he started rutting the trapping too a back seat.
I hope that after he's done chasing girls, he'll get the urge to trap again.
