Why would I let the government inject a brand new drug into my healthy children to protect them from something that didn’t even cause them to be sick?

Not brand new! Children under 18 and 16 aren’t eligible to get it, COVID doesn’t affect them the same because of the protein receptors. Unless they are super high risk, like compromised immune systems.

Do a little research and talk to doctors and infection control people. Not jokers on the internet.

And I wouldn’t have gotten it unless my son was one of those kids at super high risk, so I actually listened to his many doctors and got it. It affects everyone differently. Some show little to no symptoms. Some die. I’d rather take the small risk of side effects to taking the vaccine, which is unlikely since I don’t have a history of side effects from taking a vaccine. And reduce the chance of my son ending up in the hospital again. Or worse.

So yes, you do what you feel is best for you and I’ll do what I think is best for me.

Take care, I hope you had a good season and have a good Turkey season and fishing season.

I like that my phone capitalized Turkey season!

Have a good one .

Bob-Guess you didn't read where Bogmaster, the original poster, meant this to be a thread for those of us that have made the choice to get the vaccination. If you want to tinkle and moan about the vaccine, make your own thread or join in on the one that is already going....your choice, as in many things in life.

Please clarify. Are you saying that the wife had already had covid?

I had the virus, I have tested positive for the antibodies. Do they still want me to get vaccinated? If so, why?
What reaction could the vaccine have with my antibodies? Will it destroy my antibodies that are actually more protective than the vaccine?

Actually I have asked those questions with my health care provider, and it's no surprise that they tell me they don't have the answers to those questions.

So for me, I will absolutely not get the vaccine until those questions can be answered to my satisfaction.

We're blessed to live in the land of the free and home of the brave.
I pray these tenets hold out during this or any other pandemic, endemic, election, selection, prefab, or confab.

Land of the free - to make your own choice.
Home of the brave - not defined as doing as I say, but rather those who courageously guard the previous theme.

More and more we live under the yolk of; "Do as I say, because my thinking is better than you're thinking."
That's the battle in front of us.
Not any virus or vaccine to hinder its spread.

Blessings,
Mark

Tom, I know several up her who have got the first round. I suspect part of your problem is you live around too many people.

My wife got her first one, being eligible as part of the education system. Her arm is very sore, but that's it. She was told to be prepared for the second one to be potentially rough.
I'm not eligible yet myself, and haven't decided if I'll take it when I am.

Although I have no intention of getting the vaccine I respect everyone's else's choice to take it. What I find odd is that it seems some of you are having to wait so long when all the way up here I could have had it a week ago, and some communities got it even earlier. The more remote you live up here the quicker you are going to get it. Wonder why other countries are getting it faster than the country that developed it? Also seems like republican states like Florida are doing a much better job at getting their people vaccinated?

If you have covid you already have immunity. How long they don’t know how long with the vaccine they don’t know. Think it’s more about money to be made from the vaccine. I do know the media have over hyped this as a divisionary tactic. By the it’s working!!!

Steven, its funny that the vaccine is available in yours and other regions far from the metro. They just started making some available in certain parts of the metro a lottery was used in some places, but the numbers of people trying to get it far outstripped the small number of doses that were available.
My sister in law works for Allinah Health and they just gave the first dose to their employees on Tuesday. So that kind of gives us an idea of how long it may be before we can get vaccinated. Brings to mind the Kinks song from the 60s--Who"ll be The Next In Line.

Got my first one yesterday. No real issues, arms a little sore but no more than when I get a flu shot.

My wife got her first shot this last Thursday. I get mine this coming Wednesday (Feb 3rd). Ours are Moderna so they are exactly 4 weeks to the day and hour apart and scheduled.
