Do any of you guys or girls use them on coyote? How long does it take to dispatch? are they worth buying? Im considering but would like to know a little more before throwing money around. Private message me if neccesary. Videos would be perfect proof for me if you have any. thanks in advance.

I call them kill poles. Its all about what you want for your trapline methods. I like them because there is not a lot of natural entanglement in a lot of the paces I want to set the snares. The kill poles I use are also the anchor and support for the snares. The snares you use are very important IMO. You need good solid aggressive locks and kill springs are big help. I build my own of 1/2" rebar 5' long and #9 black wire. I use a type of steel fence post driver to put them in the ground. I anchor lower these days on the poles so they don't get bent so much and have a more solid stop at the end. 5/8" poles are great but harder to drive and more expensive to build.

Are you talking about snaring like ADC or a catch pole capable of dispatching a trapped animal?

Ahhh, You may be on to something there. He likely meant the Death Rays Lee Steinmeyer makes. My mistake I bet. blush

You won't see many complaints on Lee's Death Rays.

I bought the death ray this year. I used it to dispatch 10 coyote, 35 fox, 19 coon and 1 cat. Worked awesome

That’s what I was thinking. I haven’t used mine enough to give an opinion though. We should keep further discussion to PM’s

The OP should send Lee a PM and find out the proper way to use the Death Ray. CLICK HERE TO PM LEE

Lee's Death Rays are different from the ones I knew growing up (see pic) and take just a little more direction on using them properly.

Great tool! Lee builds them right! Bloodless dispatch and really reduces work in the trap shed.

Lee's an awesome man. Own his parallel knife and a death Ray. Both are top notch. Talked to him twice a wealth of knowledge and very personable. I've dispatched yote, coon , fox and beaver with it. It
works great

When I rode with Mr. Coyote last year he had five in the truck. At the first stop he had ten coyotes in ten sets. Lee's work well on coyotes and 'coon. Never tried one on any other animals. Coyotes go down fast and are dead in a few minutes, but be careful. I've seen one come back to life after the DR was removed to soon.

If you trap coyotes and dont have a death ray you need one. I have the short one it works great. That man that makes them is a great guy also.
