Just got word a old neighbor drowned when his side by side went down near a ice heave on small lake...be careful out there guys this one hits close to home..
The only place you find free cheese is in a mousetrap !

Sorry to hear about your friend. It gets someone every year. I asked a rancher I fish on about a week ago. He said there was about 2.5 inches just north of the Nebraska border. I'll wait for more.

He was 81 in good health.... loved to fish just a good old solid farmer... he always said fishing doesnt take time off your life!! even tho tragic his grandson made it out ... he got to go doing what he loved ! my life was richer for knowing him RIP Eugene

Warm days and cold nights can fool a guy, I would not walk on the ice now let alone drive on it but I’m not a fan of ice.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

It helps a great deal to know your lake. I am good with 2 inches or more when walking. But it also depends on the type of ice.

Grampa always said, "Four inches will hold a horse, two inches will hold a horse's you-know-what." Well said lakes here in north Mi. have a couple inches but most have springs and rivers in them snowmoblie found one day before Christmas be a few more this week

Another good man going while doing what he enjoyed.
