They love fallen trees to chew on or new growth depends when logged if active logging is going on you can bet they feed there at night.

It is being logged now. They started during the week but I was working. Yesterday and today they were not working but I'm sure they'll be back at it first thing Monday. So tomorrow and Sunday, you guys think I should hunt right over where the cutting is going on? Yes

not sure what your weather is doing right now but I would hunt it
they probably left you a nice clear road you can walk in on quietly.

The last several years logging activity has increased on the 3.500 acre Timber company lease I hunt. It doesn't seem to bother the deer much, seems like they are used to it.
I've had turkeys shock gobble to trees crashing down in the next valley over in the spring.
Eh...wot?

We've had some rain, it is a muddy mess! It's a 20 year old logging road that we have kept up on. The road up would be the yellow boundary at the bottom of the circle. I can and will be sneaking up there along the top yellow line. The wind will be in my favor going in that way and the leaves aren't very crunchy right now.

if you have had rain I would be looking for fresh tracks with clean edges they shouldn't be too old. when you find a good run of fresh tracks find a place to watch it from a reasonable distance to shoot.
