What are you using the borax for? If you're using it to brighten up the fur without washing it, you can get melbys fur conditioner

Possibly due to shutdowns at the borax mines or the transportation of such.

Flesh and stretch the fur and dry it. Get them in some heat once you flesh and stretch. Soon they will be hair slipping and you will have nothing.

I've had issues with Green mold on the inside of my skins head and kill area shows it 1st, I've never noticed this before this season it is my 1st with freeze thaw daily conditions, I can't just hang them until I sell because its to warm they don't freeze solid this year, Get some air circulation going and heat the area while your working in the area. Heat does not need to be continuos but the air circulation is prefered to be basically so.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Keep the skins in a freezer or finish them. Borax is poisinous-dont drink it or breathe the dust.

The wd40, bleach 50/50, and vinegar are used on fleshed, stretched and dry fur on the skin side where fur was hung with no heat and air circulation. I would say there is no substitute for borax. The best bet is to freeze them in a freezer or flesh and put them up.

Actually thats not true. I dont drink it, but I know lots of people that do for certain illness. Its the Boron they are after. An example is broken bones. Doctors have proven that a broken bone will heal twice as fast with boron intake.
