I have some muskrat lure that smells like cherry. And I have some coon lure that smells like peppermint.

I've tried it recently at beaver sets as a change up. I caught a beaver in one of those sets but don't have anything but very limited anecdotal evidence to show it works. Who knows? That sat may have connected with no lure at all.

What do you think? Will beaver be attracted to the kinds of food lure smells that seem to attract muskrats?

Bound by everlasting bands?

While it may draw in some beaver,it will also draw in more animals that the lure is intended for, thus ending up with muskrat and coon--plugging up your sets for beaver.
Granted this also happens when using beaver lure, but not as often as using a non-beaver lure.

Most of my beaver work is nuisance. I don't care for commercial lures that contain special little attractants like peppermint or other flavours/odours. That's one of the reasons I like to produce my own. Nothing more irritating then a rat plugging up a 330 set instead of a $130 beaver.
