I have 40 beaver houses to trap. I have 40 330’s & 10 footholds for beaver. I have 9 days to trap. Any suggestions on what’s the best way to hit all the houses and take as many beavers as possible. I guess I’m asking for help coming up with a game plan.

Borrow or buy more traps. Or set up 4 traps per house for 2 days then move. Might be better off trapping them off the houses though. That's an awful.lot of houses to trap in that time. Good luck and hope you have some good endurance because you are going to have to hussle

Wish I had more time to trap....

I'd suggest setting as many of your 330's as possible and if you don't make a catch pull it and reset it at another location leap, frogging traps if you want .

Letting the beaver age so to speak after a check they're easier to skin after a day or so to allow the fat to set up , clean skinning was my favorite way to deal with large numbers caught daily I'd also suggest laying the beaver on pallets so they dry out and roll them so they dry evenly .

I'd hoop the smaller beaver pelts and plywood forms for all the rest this all manageable for one person but if you have someone to help it's even simpler trust me ha ha in a month I caught quitea few with just about the same number of 330's

Agree with strike2X, that is what I do when I go hit the big rivers for beaver. Keep this in mind though, if you want quality over quantity set your gear away from the lodge to avoid the kits.

If I was even considering something that ambitious, I would have been planning for a month or more, good luck!

I plan on doing it in the spring once the ice starts to leave.

If trapping in the spring after ice out, dont worry about setting the houses, just set your 40 traps in good locations and they will mostly be full every check.
If you were to trap in winter under the ice set 3 or 4 traps at the main entrance and check twice a couple days apart and pull.
If in fall,I would make two good sets per house and pull after two checks a couple days apart.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
