Sounds like your traps are contaminated with scent of some sort. How did you treat them?

Further intel needed. Are they flipped and not tripped? Are they sprung and pulled straight out of bed? Is there any claw marks showing a struggle? Is there any hair left in jaws?

Pics and more info would help. There’s a few reasons for diggers, the big two are an unstably bedded trap and some kind of contamination on the trap. If your pan has a lot of movement before the trap fires that could cause a digger too. As far as pullouts, could be deer stepping in your sets or could be that your pan tension is too light causing toe catches. If there’s no fur on the jaws and no catch circle there’s a good chance deer are getting in them.

Had a couple dug up by coons before we got some moisture, if its not packed hard and not deep enough they will shove them dirty little paws in - around - under just to see whats there. I agree with you also Lee. I am not a huge fan of power bedding either, reason is I do not need to add more nails to the places I drive, and it would happen to me I am sure.

Check around your sets... coyotes and fox like to leave a calling card, by the way of scat, when they expose your traps... a lot of times, but not every time.
The guys here gave some great advice.

First thing a trapper always says is the traps are contaminated! BS! Set them deeper in the dirt and make sure they don't move. Depending on the size of trap your setting, cover with at least a half inch for like a 1.75, and a strong #3 or 4 can take an inch of cover, when you have decent ground conditions and not yet fighting freezing weather. Most people don't use enough cover. Pack that dirt around the trap once you have it solid. Coons can be a pita on predator sets, but by bedding solid and deep, you will catch them instead of having traps dug out. Most of the digging is from coons. This is spot on imo.
