Never tried it that way Pete, good tip. Have used aerosol.

I too have heater issue but wont clutter this topic, yet lol.

Updated**

I appreciate all of the input in this thread, I really do. I did two things:

I flushed and refilled the radiator coolant and reservoir to the cold fill lines. AND replaced the thermostat. Not completely sure which one did the trick but it worked like a charm. Heater is blowing better than it has in a good while. It wasn't in the negatives this morning but the truck heated up QUICK.

That might have been a simple repair for some of you, but I'm not much of a mechanic. I can do oil changes and new brakes and rotors but that's about the extent of my mechanical comfort. Thanks to YouTube and Tman I got it done though. Again, thanks for the help fellas.

That's great to hear you got it fixed. You can now add tstats to your list.
Tstats are fairly simple if you don't have to remove a bunch of stuff to get to them.

Now that you've gotten the engine hot and.the thermostat opened, double check your coolant levels with the engine cold. A lot of times it'll "burp" some air out as it runs, and your coolant level will go down.
