Rustling leaves as they fall on forest floor....geese way overhead....elk bugling..... the soft echo of wood being chopped at distance in the woods....smells of campfires, wood smoke ...aspen whispering in a light breeze....rifle shot echoing down the valley, or the massive silence of big mountains ....warmth of wood stove heat washing over your face as you enter the house from cool outside...smells of cooking in the cool air. Can't use just one sound

....I just took a trip..and nevah left the farm...yah painted a nice picture there...

I would say the one thing that gets me ready for the bigger parts of hunting /trapping season would be the whistle of wings on a big fat northern dove coming down ahead of a cool front. And there's also the earthy smell that just all of a sudden shows up when the nights start cooling off and we get a heavy dew.

Combines, running non-stop.

It used to be Geese as they flew south.... but now we have Sky Carp the year round and have to put up with their crap everywhere. So now I guess, it is the neighbors cussing while they are raking leaves from their yard, that fell from my tree.

Elk bugles in the night on the ridge above the house. The sound of rain. Crows and doves that come back every fall. The last couple years, fall turkeys, kind of a cool sound listening to them since they’re building population close.

Sandhills, geese, swans, and ducks are flocking up in big flocks, lots of noise. Moose hunting, it is fun to call a big bull in, never shot a big bull, just shoot the little bulls, but called some in just because it's fun.

Yup....but neither of us could put pen to paper like that....lol

The sound of a fawn bleating excessively seconds after a wolf chased a doe and fawn through our property while my wife was standing in the garden mid day a couple days ago! She was a little jacked up when I got home!

Our summers are so brutal that we LONG for that first cool snap that usually happens around the second week of September. It takes the humidity away and since we really don’t have wind to speak of most days, it’s nice to feel the cool breeze just for a bit.

The silence of lawn mowers not running. I would say gunshots but when I lived in the hood those were common year round. Moved to the country and gunshots are still heard year round. Was told when I moved out here that deer season was only closed on Easter and from the gun shots after dark I tend to believe it.

Leaves being blown off the trees, was cooking traps yesterday and noticed a few trees starting to turn orange
