So this off season I made it a goal to get a Polaris Ranger for trapping. The only issue is they aren’t cheap, we don’t play with savings, and we don’t finance toys. So the best option was to get one for free. So I searched until I found a good price on a dirt bike. $2,500 later O had a dirt bike. Now that money came out of our savings account so I have to pay it back. So I sold it for $3,000. Got that money and bought 450cc dirt bike and crf50. Sold both of those. Started snowballing quicker than I thought. 2 months from the first dirt bike, that money has been put back in our savings and there is still plenty to buy and sell with. Then this popped up on Craigslist, and I was able to talk the guy down to a lower price than I thought...... 2008 Polaris Ranger 700 XP. Barely used Still got money to buy a trailer when I find a deal, and still have a little to try to buy and sell with. If there’s a will, there’s a way.
If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

Umm, just so you know, that is Trip B on the odometer, not total miles on the bike. (fourwheelers, side by sides, and snowmobiles are all "bikes") I think that is engine hrs

That’s why it has an hour glass on the display. If it was total motor miles there would be an arrow next to where it was Obo. If it was the trip miles there would be and arrow by where it says Trip. And an arrow on Tach would indicate rpms. Has 1,900 miles. Engine hours are more important to worry about over miles because it accounts for idle time. Any UTV with less than 200 hour is barely used. This thing was used around a small airport for the last 12 years.

Yeah, I basically work off of a Kawasaki Mule five days a week and maybe put fifteen hours per week on it. I would agree that it’s lightly used. I wish I had one just like it for trapping.
Some days I think I could trap anything anytime. Others I wonder if I’ll ever make another catch...

Good deal! But you did "play with your savings." Nope. I invested with a small part of our savings. I didn’t play with any of the bikes I bought till made back the money I took out. Those where the rules set by the CFO of our house (my wife). Put back twice as much as I took out once I had enough to keep buying and selling. Plus, after the season is over, I should be able to sell this Ranger for more than I paid for it. If that’s the case then I didn’t get it for free, I got paid to use it haha.

I seem to do that with vehicles. Drive them for a couple years and get back what I have in them or more. Takes some patience waiting for the right deal. I'm impressed you got it done in two months. Good for you! I’m against the stimulus checks, but that’s what helped me out the most haha. Once those checks came out, people started spending more than they needed on stuff they have wanted but didn’t need, and that’s exactly what the stimulus money was intended to be used on. Get people buying stuff. Here in Vegas, the inventory for off-road toys is very low. So driving to AZ, southern Utah, or Southern California was the ticket. Find a deal at one of those places, bring it to Vegas and sell it. But it does take a lot of patience and self control to buy something you can make money on and not just something you want. I got lucky with this side by side and got both. But yes the stimulus checks is what boosted it or I wouldn’t be this far ahead of the game.

Just build you a nice box on the bed for more storage and you will love it. I been running a ranger for 5 years now and they are great. I got pictures of the box I built for mine if your interested.
