Like my dad always said , a man that takes his last dollar to buy his beer instead of feeding his family , needs to be horse whipped.

I've never violated anyone's rights and will not do so over the next few years...if I make it that long.

You see, I dont group all people together based on the actions of a few.

Digger, did I miss where SW advocated for violating rights? Heck, I'd share a fire with that ole boy anytime.

It’s pretty bad I have 4 wardens listed in my phone. When trapping season arrives. The creole hits the fan. I trap around high population areas. We are all on speaking terms. All good ole boys. No problems here. The wardens support trapping here in Ohio.

Don't know SW. Over the years I have had numerous encounters with GW's. Only 2 were cordial, the rest were condescending fishing expeditions and double speak trying to get you to incriminate your self or your buddy. I have been stopped and illegally searched while legally shining for deer, back when I didn't know better. They try to trick you into giving them permission to search your truck and check your guns. Had a talk with our brand new warden just out of school, same old BS.

Well, when I was a shaver and started trapping, hunting and fishing here, our game warden was new and was a knothead. He hid behind trees, on the ground and would jump out like Ernest T Bass lol. We, after a few battles got him trained lol. Then, we had his home phone # and he had ours. Flash forward to today, our GW called me the other day from his personal cell and said Jeff, if ya need anything call me. I said the same, he still owes me a answer.

My point is digger, we don't know them at first, and they don't know us. They are not all bad. Sure, there's some tools out there but we can't regard them as such until we get to know them, visa versa. They have a job to do and we can't expect them to be our buddy until we both have time to form a relationship, where we both get to know one another and stay within the law.

If they're greasy, and a tool, that stinks, just follow the law and make fun of them lol. I really don't think SW, ever said he's gonna nail someone, rights be danged.

I only ever had trouble with one warden and that was in CO. I posted about it before. \

I really do make an honest effort to be 100% legal. That seems to do wonders for not having a warden all over you. Left a snare once that I missed when pulling them, set a #3 bridger in NM one year that wasn't offset. Both times just dumb errors on my part and I just paid the fines. Both of the wardens who wrote me tickets were very polite. Snare and trap both were tagged. I think they knew I just needed a little reminder to pay better attention.

I am one of the instructors in the local Hunter Safety Program. Met several COs during classes. They all seemed like good people. Had my license checked while in the field a few times - no problems.

Over the years have had a lot more problems with Barney Fife looking to write a traffic ticket.

I don't want to jinx myself but I have never had an issue yet. I have had a couple check me and be cool but professional and that is fine. I have had a lot more be straight up sportsman and want to talk about the cats they are tagging or the fish on my stringer.

I don't think they are inherently bad folks, but I believe they are trained to skirt the constitution. I have had a GW in Colorado put me onto some fine Muley hideouts, had a GW in N Wi. stop me and show me where a bear had just crossed the road. But there are also those that "ask" me to let them check my firearm and or truck when my only fault of the day was hunting. When I decline I am informed or what I like to call "blackmailed" into showing the gun or they will get nitpicky and find something they can put on me. I have paid a couple fines over the years, both for misunderstanding the rules, my fault.

I was traveling down a two track In Wyoming. I encountered a game check station on that road. I also had a nice 3 point mule deer in the truck. The warden asked for my license and asked where I had shot the deer. I said I shot It on the west side of the road. He said no you must have shot It on the east side of the road. I said you are right. I had actually shot that deer In the wrong zone but he gave me a big break that day.
