1. let me first state this was in Ontario Canada, at a TD Canada Trust.
i'm guessing this is a TD only disaster, but i wonder if it's just a standard banking thing in Canada or everywhere? Doubtful very many people have ever had to find out, so here's the story.
Did you know? That if you walk in to a bank with your face, fingerprints, blood, passport, driver's licence, car in your name out front, family to vouch for you, EVERYTHING, ETC.... That they can not, and will not give you a new password for your ONLINE banking without a phone number.
All you need to know, is that i went in to the bank, with all my ID and so forth, but without a phone, AND without access to any phone. (had a mishap this morning, let's say)
After my phone broke, i went to do some online banking, but this is my work laptop, so i had to try a few passwords, and go blocked out. No biggie. Password reset.... Nope, the automation will only text or call the number in my account, which i clearly don't have currently. There is no other remedy from home. No biggie, i'll head in to the bank in person.
5 different in store employees including the head of the branch and 1 phone operator specialist in online banking. i'm sitting there, with all my IDs, and ME, but no phone. NONE OF THEM, can do anything about it.
It (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) me off, but didn't matter really, except that HOW THE EFF?!?@! IS THAT LEGAL?!
They kept saying they weren't keeping me from banking, i was welcome to do any banking i'd like. MY problem was that i had just received some large Etransfers in my email, and because they require a password and can't auto deposit, i have to log in to my online banking to fill in the passcodes. So in store banking was useless to me, i needed my online banking password and it's NOT POSSIBLE to get a new password without a phone. LITERALLY.
Is anyone else's mind blown away? My phone now, according to my online bank, is more me than me?! Am i the human? or am i the phone's dog?
I suppose that's how ubiquitous phones are, we didn't even notice that they are you, and you aren't you.
*i hope that made sense... been up about thirty hours.....it has not been a great 30 hours lol. but i'm still laughing, to hide the tears, and yes, this is related to this page... Because i don't have a freakin clue where else to find anyone else that may have ever run in to this.... This MUST be one of the few places on the net where phoneless ppl still come. haha.

I'll be darned.
Hasn't happened to me, but that's probably because we're un-informed of the worldly ways like you guys. That's not what i said Lefty, but your hurt feelings can remember it however you want to, since you're still hung up on it weeks or months later lol

What goes around, comes around. And I do have a good memory haha, fine..... you win, i respect it. You are the current Can-Am trashtalk champ, basically purely out of my respect for you not knowing me but remembering me, and coming back at me from nowhere. Sneaky Hippie i still think it was essentially a compliment lol, It's not like Michael Jordan was studying college players when he was with the Chicago Bulls lol. why would he? He couldn't.... I mean i definitely pushed a less pretty analogy, but the sentiment was still down there. am i wrong to think it's crazy, this phone thing?

Had the same happen to me as I don't own a cell phone. I will have to remember Whites approach for the next time. If it log in on another computer it sends the bank into a tizzy. If update my browser the same thing and takes a week to get it going again.
