Hang in there do what you can to find strength and comfort in prayer I went through a similar situation with my folks no it's not easy or fun I stop in and visited with my dad and tell him about the bronc riding at the previous night's rodeo no he couldn't talk but he sure was twitching as if he was laughing hard inside the nurses commented how he did better when I stopped in for a visit even if it wasn't very long it was good for both of us. Do the best you can during the time you have left with her I'm sure she appreciates the time you're spending with her. You and your's are in my prayers . Allan

My mother had Alzheimer's for over three years. I spent as much time as I could with her. The last nine months were very trying on my soul. She got to the point that she wasn't eating and went down to 83 pounds. She couldn't talk. I would hug her, give her a kiss on the cheek and held her hand while talking to her about how much I appreciated and loved her for raising my two brothers and me, by herself. I talked to her about memories of her taking me fishing (at six in the morning) and her taking me deer hunting when I was nine (two mule deer does in Montana) and all of the fond memories that I hold dearly. I would always pray before I would go and see her. I always prayed with her before I left. She used to love it when I prayed with her and share with her that I praise God that He created her to be my mom. The last nine months I started questioning if I should pray to God to just let her die. It was hard to see a once strong, dedicated Christian woman...my mom slowly withering away and all the morphine that they had to give her for her pain (she had physical problems from falling). What I did and what I will share with anyone who is going through the "prayer to let her pass away peacefully" battle. As a Christian...I asked God let her pass away in peace. I brought my reasons before Him, however I always ended my prayer with "Thy will be done oh Lord, not mine, because You love her more than I can even imagine and You know best".That is when the peace came to me. I petitioned my God and trusted Him to do best. I apologize if this was too long. It brought up alot of emotions and memories for me. She passed away 9/9/18 and I miss her very much.
Please know I will faithfully pray that God is with your mother, you and all your family. What helped me the most while going through her final months was prayer, asking others to pray and the fond memories of her and that is what helps me still...even to this day.
God bless your mother, you and all of yours, Swampfox

My father-in-law needed the permission from his family to let go and go. We knew his position with the LORD so we could do this. Prayer for you at this time.

Be the best son you can be for your Mom. Hold her hand and tell her everything your heart wants to say because tomorrow may be too late. Have no regrets but have a deep appreciation of where your Mom is going and let her know that it is okay for her to leave.
God Bless,
Chris

There is nothing wrong in reassuring your mom that you will be OK, and it is alright with you if she wants to rest with Jesus. She may be waiting for you to accept this.
