Since most of us are in house arrest. Dry firing is a great way to practice. Carl has a very good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBZhV-bySFMHe is a very good person and teacher, who can not only tell you how to shoot, he can show you. He is also a very good medic. He also offers classes that can be found on his website.

I've been kicking that idea around. Why not start a thread and give a review. It would be interesting to hear your take on it.

Be careful about dry firing. You can break firing pins. I once saw a Savage shotgun spit a firing pin across the room when it was dry-fired.

I am a fan of dry fire. several things you can do with it.
learning your trigger , maintaining sight picture through the click , place a spent casing on your slide and keep it there through the click.
I don't put as much value in dry fire trainers as some.

Jim this is an issue in older guns more than modern guns the AR and glock pistols are very dry fire safe and you should have a spare firing pin any way. most modern self defense pistols are dry fire safe. I have had them break , it was an older shotgun. go firing pin shopping first if it is un-avalable or too expensive pick a different gun. many may not know Ruger 10/22 are actually a dry fire safe 22lr

Jim I did that very thing with my first gun. It was a Sears and Roebuck 20 ga. Single shot , pulled the trigger and heard a tink , tipped the gun upside down and out it came.

I don't put as much value in dry fire trainers as some. Add to that drawing, off hand drills, one hand racking and mag change, drawing from various positions

Jim X2 I just can't bring myself to do that after years and years of being taught not to.
