My primary calling gun is 204, tried all of the of store ammo, only one performed the best was Hornaday 45gr spire pnt. Of course they stopped selling them, down to my last box now. Guess ill be gettin a reloader soon. That 45 grn puts em down hard and no huge exit, ballistic tips are worthless on yotes but thats all they sell for 204s nowdays..

I would like to try some 45gr hornady. Fixing to order few boxes of Berger 40gr too shoot. But I am 20 cal bullet poor. I counted just my 20 cal was 3200+ bullets. Mosty Berger 35gr hp and Sierra 39gr bking. Been looking for some once fire brass too. Mosty once fired brass I seen sell or there brass was 35 and 40 ct each. I can buy new stuff for that price. I like no recoil flat shooting rd. That little bullet can do damage.

I've got one form H&R as well. I've all but given up on reloading. I haven't found a load that will shoot as good as the hornady factory stuff.
I just use it for plinking and groundhogs. lots of fun to shoot

I haven't read the thread but to mu knowledge, the .204 is proprietary to Hornaday the powder is also. People that reload have talked about using pistol powder and I'll leave it at that.

Yup, Hands down my night vision round of choice. 35 Berger is a dog dropper. The 40 grain Vmax have treated me well also but they can be finicky on fur. God Bless Dustin
