tlguy trapper Joined: May 2013 Posts: 3,191 Green Bay, Wisconsin	What is the commission they take off the top of that? Is grade 3 shells? Last I heard a few weeks back MTP was offering $75/lb for northern midwestern castor no grading, and $70/lb for castor from elsewhere.

Saskfly OP trapper S Joined: Nov 2018 Posts: 698 Ontario	So grade three is shells. 11% commision. No. 1 Castoreum pod is big and full, generally brownish in colour. No.2 Castoreum pod is darker in colour and not as full. No.3 Castoreum pod is virtually empty and very dry.

HOUTS32 trapper H Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 253 Minnesota	Fha is notorious for a shrinkage deduction. I still have no idea how they calculate it, but you will lose weight somehow when you send them. That is always something to consider.

Castor had been selling at 80 or more dollars in the country here. That is a good price realized by FHA in this environment and bodes well for the castor market and the uncertainty that surrounded it. "Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon".
