Choke spring, with no deer stop, you probably can, deer stop, no way, deer stops suck, poor idea, the correct break away for the snare is better

Really having a hard time understanding anything you just said here
The system I use comes with a BAD on it rated for 265lb but this year going to 285lb.
Deer are released and it works well.

My go-to coyote snare (I make my own) consists of 8' of 1/16" 1x19 cable (preferably Korean), MTP Bridger Surehold camlock (has case hardened teeth), 280# Sullivan S-hook BAD, torsion type kill spring, and vinyl support collar. On the line I carry extension cables made from salvaged snares..

For coyote I would not use 1/16' cable without a kill spring and solid tie-off. Camlocks with case hardened teeth can be reused many times. I carry a light weight cable cutter when checking snares and salvage all re-usable parts.

For coyote a 25# compression spring is useless. A 50-100# torsion spring is 100% better. Compression springs twist out of shape losing strength and are rarely re-usable after a coyote or bobcat catch. Torsion springs are 99% reusable.

Some of you have a lot more experience using this cable than I do, since in my situation, having mandatory deer stops, 24 hour check times, and no trees, it didn't preform as well as it would with other rules and circumstances. So I have a couple or 3 questions...

1. If the coyote goes around some flexible brush/little trees won't that effectively stop the quick kill action achieved when they hit the end of the cable?

2. Are you supporting your snares up high to try to keep the lock on the back of the neck vs. the side? If so how?

Snaring in sagebrush and/or under low-limbed juniper trees I've had that happen in about 1 out of 15 catches. Usually leaves a live coyote; rarely a chew-out.

I’ve had coyotes tangled in small loose trees and every single time that lock has been cinched tight with the spring fired.
I can’t imagine a coyote not being able to pull the snare tight in any situation.

Hang snares high. Bottom of my loops roughly 14 inches off the ground. I find with the seneker spring that yes they fire less often with springy small brush but I found less chew outs still than open type country as most springs fire. Chew outs will still happen no matter what system or cable you use as mentioned earlier by some. I find some coyotes just chew! Wolves are extremely good at that as well and I find wolves are masters at chewing and not fighting cable a lot of the times.

You could check your states regulation on snare cable size. Our smallest size for cable is 5/32.

We have to use a deer stop here, coyotes die about 25% of the time, in wy I didn't use a deer stop nearly 100% died
Some looked like they ran to end of snare and went to sleep.
My break away is 150lbs, 180 lb fail to open on every deer.
Is this a better explanation?
Deer stops only work on smaller footed deer, neck catch doesn't work, break away is best choice
If you use a choke spring the break away needs to be lighter rating, I use the 50 lb springs
