Great article in the May, '20 issue of FFG.

It talks about how ATC purchased the Diamond Trap Co. in 1931 and the W.A. Gibbs & Son Co. In 1936, and utilized the myriad of parts, combined with the Newhouse parts they had, to assemble working traps.

The article, in the Antique Trap Collecting section with Tom Parr, goes on to mention how the F.C. Taylor Co. strated marketing these hybrid traps as Mystery Traps on 1935 in sizes No. 0 to No. 2. There's a picture of a page from Taylor's 1935 catalog, calling them Mystery Traps, and "NOT MENTIONING THE NAME OF THE MANUFACTURER."

The No. 0 are a whopping .85 Cents a dozen. The 1936 Taylor catalog stated that 235,452 traps were sold and they were never offered again. The No. 3 Mystery Trap was offered in 1936.

This article will clear up the "rare factory prototype" traps that are sometimes offered.
