When Jerry came trapping this year I enjoyed the look of his Nissan Frontier and I liked the price tag that comes with them as well. I’ve been a Toyota guy for years but the sticker shock of those new vehicles is crazy. I hardly ever see any posts about them on here.

You can buy an almost off the floor model here for less than 20 grand. How many of you are driving them newer then say 2016? Any downfalls you’ve found with them? Can they take a beating? I’m hard on things. Thanks ahead of time.

My wife has a 2012 Pathfinder which is about the same. No problems with it and she is hard on stuff. Milage around 16 mpg overall.

The fellow I trapped beaver for at the end of the season has one, not a problem with it according to him.

Thanks Rat your post on the Toyota’s kind of got me looking into it. The price tag on those Tacoma’s isn’t as bad as some of the other midsize trucks, but still significantly more than the frontiers. I’ve been seeing some with 5,000 miles here in the $15-18k range.

I don’t really tow anything and prefer the smaller size trucks for getting around here in the winter. I just wondered if there were any glaring problems with them.

Nissan used to be real good but since 1999 , they got into bed with Renault their quality has slipped quite a bit.

I have a 2019 that I bought this winter. It was a lease return with 12K on it. I like it and it quieter than my rogue passenger car.

Buying a Nissan is like buying a Dodge....they are cheaper for a reason. I’ve been doing Collision /Body work for 44 years.....and when I take apart a 4-5 year old Nissan , all the 10mm bolts break off. Can’t say that about the Toyota....because they coat the bolts with some type of nevah seize (sp). Plus the road noise and sound deadening don’t compare either
