Sale went great - super smooth.
Been going to Fallon enough years and seen enough mistakes I just copied how they did ( thank you Jim Curran) it except we just tracked everything manually.

Williams was a great place for the sale and the city of Williams staff who gave us the building CHEAP were fantastic to work with.

All the volunteers were awesome.

Raffle and donations and new memberships totaled over a grand.

Kids free raffle was awesome.

Scott Trowbridge did the trappers Ed course and it looked like a half dozen kids or so participated.

The sale would have been absolutely perfect but Pappas had some issues and had to leave the sale before the auction. (trying my best here to be polite)

So we were left with just one buyer but in my opinion we had the best one. Libby walked through every single lot negotiating with the sellers and discussing their fur until she had answered all of their questions. Some sold and some didn't. It looked to me like she offered very fair prices.

Sold 242 Bobcats of 411 offered for a $184.86 average (on the ones that sold)

42 of the 238 coyotes at a $30.35 average

Sold some grays, kits and even two Red Fox.

Looking at the Idaho results ( $120 avg on 715 cats and $58 on over 1,600 coyotes) that the fur market has COMPLETELY tanked.

$ 800.00 High Cat was an AZ cat by Lance Crowther. Look him up on FB - timberland fur harvestors [Linked Image]

Look at the bright side, trapping pressure will be down next year! The “fair weather” trappers will be hanging up the traps and those of us who trap just because we enjoy trapping will have plenty of ground and fur to catch!

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

Indeed, that's the good news if there is any. What bothers me though, is how it might effect all the buyers out there. A lot of good people who truly rely on the fur market doing well to make a living. Another downside is that the less people that trap, the less people there may be who support trapping and combat those wishing to take it away.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
