I bought a hundred at a convention that I’ve had trouble with them bending when pulling and not setting sometimes. Are there some knock offs that are inferior to others or are they just being made cheaper? My old ones were tougher.

If I remember correctly how it went was and still to this day I think

1st, Ogormans came out with the high desert spear which was very similar to the wolf gang cept it was not bent at the prongs
2nd, Wolf Creek came out with the "Real " wolf fangs everyone knows with the real thick metal
3rd Freedom brand Came out with there version which is a little thinner looking at some of the ones I've had
4th Asuable (?) Came out with there version recently which I haven't heard alot of good or bad about but looking at pics their kinda flimsy.
5th. Wolf Creek came out with their super fangs last year ( I think) and their supposed to be much wider and thicker.

The wolf Creek ones are supposed to be the best that you can get easily followed by the freedom brand

I haven't had problems with the Ausable fangs. Pulled some out of 15" of silly putty southern Iowa clay last week with no bending at all. I bought the smaller WC after the ausables since they hold so well, but haven't used them yet.

No they actually copied my design. I have been using that earth anchor for at least 15 years. But mine are made from 10Gauge material.
The season I never marketed them was that my buddy makes them for me and I get them for nothing, so the deal was I wouldn't sell them.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery beav. There was no one using rebar in their vice grips of their skinning machines (everyone used the sheet metal grips) before I showed it on here. Now, not only are guys selling almost exact copies of my original skinning machine design (and others taking credit for them on youtube and the like) but I see a guy who's well known on here for trap mods making a copy of my roller style skinner too. Just the way it goes.

Interesting, I'm pretty sure the same guy you speak of who does trap mods expressed interest in a stake puller of mine that was posted on T-Man.

Said he would make me another one if I sent him the exact dimensions, Lol.

A question on ones stamped "wolf fang" .It seems to me that some that are a grayish color do not accept 1/8" cable as easy as the shinier ones which 1/8" cable goes in real easy. Are the shinier ones super fangs ?

I believe there were 3 thicknesses, standard, heavy duty and magnum. All were about 50% wider and longer than the Wolf Fangs and they were called Dirt Dog Anchors.I got 100 of the magnums and the supply seemed to dry up after that.

PCS Outdoors listed them for awhile but only in standard and heavy duty. Now,I see the standard and heavy duty are listed by northerntrapping.com,but out of stock. They are good but almost overkill for here. The magnums hold up well but I get a couple bent ones each season but they are easy to straighten out. They easily take 1/8" cable.

All mine are zinc plated. Some older ones where tight on 1/8" New ones should be no problem.
Mine are stamped WCP

Thanks Ohio, I like those the best. What dealers sell yours since I will be buying more at NY. With my shaly soil I prefer 1/8" cable over 7/32 cable.

I use Glenn or "Ohio" on here's WCP stamped fangs. They are thicker i do not know the gauge although i should lol. They don't bend on me and i have broke #3 chain trying to pull them. I use supers for water and regulars for dirt with chain only moving forward. weld my s hooks and they are solid. In the past i have used other brands and some have bent and some were fine.

I don't just pull them out anymore. I always face my anchors (flat side) north and south and when I'm pulling I take a 1 1/2 auger and drill down about 15 inches on the flat side of the anchor and the pull out no problem. I don't like putting undo stress on my equipment. Not to mention for me this is just easier, drill will just go right through frozen ground.
