Meeting Trevor Barnes in West Branch, Michigan tomorrow night to clean out the few boxes I have. My wife is going for the ride and I told her depending on how much I get it will be Applebee's or McDonald's for dinner.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Strike2x if it works out a great place to eat is downtown at G's pizza, great food variety and plenty of Taxi mounts, including full size Grizzly indoors. Good luck!

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

It's always fun selling fur, even when the prices are down. And some quality time with the wife can go a long ways. Hope you do great !!!!

I went to Atlanta to meet him couple months ago, was very happy got about double what I was expecting. A little tip its not like a groenewold stop. It takes a long time for him to grade the fur. If I go to meet him again I will try to be the first in line. I was glad the wife wasn't with me! Jim

It takes him a while because he actually grades the fur. I like knowing that he looks at every one of them and offers a fair price!

Well we had Applebee's. I really didn't have much because I sold a lot of my stuff to a taxidermist this season.
3x #1 coon $8, 3x#2 $5, 2x semi heavy beaver slight dmg $18, small heavy #2 coyote $40, 5 oz Castor $25. That is a sample of prices. Don't ask average because I don't believe in averaging. The one coon he gave me $.50 for would have killed the average. I like grades and prices so I know what stuff was actually worth.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Does Barnes provide the seller a nice summary Statement stub/page detailing what he's buying & paying for your fur?

That is my tally from December. As you can see coon are down 3 bucks each now from what he gave me then for same size. Also talked to a guy who sold a bobcat, we are only allowed one, for $75. It was a 2 x rabbit backed Michigan cat so nothing special. I sold mine for 100 to a taxidermist and it looked same.

I wish we could keep.more cats since I caught 16 this year in coyote sets. Some were much prettier than just a rabbit back.

All my for is put up. A lot of guys sell beaver in round or just skinned but don't know the prices. I don't have a big freezer so put up is to my advantage. I also don't have the electric bill for big freezers.

Does the fact that he grades them mean you feel you get more $ than from a buyer who quickly sorts thru them

Groney knows what he's going to pay you before you even get out of your truck. So at least Barnes Is actually looking at your fur and that's a + whether It gets you more money or not.
