Not so much collector material but I rescued a pile of Montgomery dogless 4 offsets and had a couple of questions if anyone has some history with them. I thought the dogless versions had Step In on the pans and haven’t seen them before with offset jaws?

The pan in the picture is one of the first pans from Montgomery traps. The Step-In stamping came later.

Montgomery #4s came in both regular and offset jaws. I think the offset version was first produced maybe a year or so after the original production.

Check for the pan stop (the bolt and nut affair) under the pan attached to a hole in the frame. That dates the trap. The words "Step In" are on the dog on traps I have also, even my RJ models.
