Spent a couple of hours there today to see how the prices were. Generally speaking, this is what I saw after watching 20-30 lots go through..

Coons High of 6.50, most $2-3
Otters. Most $15-$25
Red fox. High of $10, most around $6-7
Bobcats. High of around $30, most lower
Coyotes. Saw a FEW really nice coyotes go for $55, those were the exception. I would guess the rest at $15-20
Beavers were high of $10 or so, rats were $2-4

That’s very close to the prices I saw in Tennessee last weekend. It just is what it is I guess. How many buyers were present?

I agree wasn't impressed at all with the repeated low offerings of Ken Little with Zander and Sons Fur. Shout out to Jakie Goodin paying fair prices for good fur.

I had to work so I didn’t make the sale today, but it sounded like it may be a good thing I couldn’t go. A friend of mine said he was more than pleased with his coyote prices, But everything else was a wash. He sold a few other furs but took the majority back home with him.

I remember years ago Zander bought about a hundred thousand dollars worth there and left with about everything.

He repeatedly barked at the auctioneers to start the price way low(below averages of the day)when they would try to start the next lot or item of same quality at previous price. He took advantage all day of every time other buyers stepped away or was breaking to pay bills offering well below what he would bid up to(averages of the day)and buy/win the bid when he had any other buyer competition. Granted no one had to sell and some didn't when this occurred. 16 of my coyotes happened to fall in this situation that were as good as anything at the sale that averaged 15-20 and he started them at 5.00 and got no competition from Jackie as he was away paying bills and the other buyers had consistently not bid or bought but a few coyotes all day. So he ended up with 16 well below daily averages. It is what it is I could have called for a no sale. Just not impressed with Ken doing that repeatedly lot wasn't the only one.

Bright spot of the day was getting to visit with Mr. Pete Askins and Mr. Jerry Joe Barnett. Two outstanding men who have done alot for trapping. Mr. Pete probably has helped influence trap design and development more than he gets credit for. Jerry Joe has taught many well known trapping leaders in the trade. Great part of the day! Prices....wished they'd been better.
