A guy must assume some risk when using a chemical that kills living things you spray it on in a few days. LOL I get headaches when I spray the stuff I would guess not spraying would be safer then spraying carelessly. It’s not inert it has it’s impact on people one way or another just the person and amount should be considered.

Tordon does remain soil active which means even a small spill can linger in the area for quite some time. Depending on the movement of soil moisture it could creep some distance and kill more plants “downstream” from the application site. I think there are better alternatives to tordon. Using a wand applicator with a mixture of glyphosate should work well on those smallest of buckthorn. It would allow you to cover some ground and apply fairly accurately.

I've been wanting to kill some mt. Laurel. I found a study online where they used Rodeo and two other herbicides. The study was done 4 times over a year with the best results of over 88% in June when the new growth was coming out. IIRC Rodeos main ingredient was glyphosate.

Some of you should read up on how these herbicides work before telling people they could cause cancer or any other incorrect scare tactics. Glyphosate has been studied so much over the last 20-30 years there are no questions as to its safety. Read and follow label directions.
