About 13,14 years ago I hung 6 snares on 6 trails within 40 yards of each other, the next day I had 5 red fox out of the 6 snares. My nephew and myself set 7 beaver traps at a colony the next morning we had 6 beavers,3 years ago and last year I had put in 4 coyote sets the following day I had a triple, doubles are always nice but triples are nicer,i'm not sure what 5 fox are other than a great stop.

Set 12 traps at a beaver colony, 10 beaver the next morning and a rat. All 12 traps were set off, 50 pounder caught in a foothold on a crossover and only pinched his toe. He pulled out and continued over the crossover and got caught in the 330 on the lower side of the dam.

My best is seven coyotes with a 100 yard radius circle. Could see them all standing in the gate. Had a friend with me. Ron Parker, president of the KS houndsman association. First time he had ever checked traps in his life and that was our first stop. I didnt say anything just acted like it was that way all the time. He figured it out after a couple days though and I admitted it was a first.

In 1964, I spent 2 days with the state trapper for Ohio, Sheldon Colvin. After setting and catch, I bought supplies and equipment from him that I needed. He only had 4 #2 Coils in stock, (he mailed me 2 more later) The first day I set all 4 traps in a 25 acre field. Next morning, I had 4 red fox. I didn't have a camera so couldn't get a shot. I remade the sets and the next I had 4 more red fox. the third day I got 3 more reds this time a friend of mine went along that had a camera and took photo of me with the 3. After third day I pulled them from that field. I later reset that field with 4 sets. and in 3 days caught 6 more reds and 3 grays. I thought fox trapping was easy... when I had caught all of the dumb ones, things got harder.

when i first started doing bait stations for Raccoon i set 6 dp's out the first night in a ten-12 foot circle around the bait bucket and a trail camera. Next day i had six coon and when i checked the camera card i think i should have had a dozen traps out as there were well over six coon foraging around after the six were caught right away. Later on i would deduce that i would put a dozen dp's at every site. Lol never had another site like the first and had a lot of traps sitting empty thinking the big convoy was there for every one. Goes to show the first site was just a premo site where the sign was right on the money and the numbers were just there.
