Why?

I bottle mine together.

I am somewhat new to fox trapping and wanted to test if one was better than the other

I'd be interested in your results when your finished testing.

As a self taught fox trapper I have had my share of struggles and still have a lot to learn. The things I wanted to see is some of the farms I tapped earlier in the season I caught a good majority of the fox off of but pulled my sets because my catch numbers dropped. I knew there were still one or two left but they would show no interest in the sets for what ever reason. Now I have trapped all the farms I had permission on and having to go back to the places I trapped earlier. For what ever reason for me males will plow right into the set and get caught.I will catch female here and there but on a couple farms it’s the adult female that’s left . Was going to switch up from my typical dirt holes and start running urine post to see if I could pick them up and see if male urine or female would do better .

I think it’s a good idea, and agree usually catch males first, usually. This year one farm I trap I got 9 fox, 8 of them females. Another farm I got 6 fox, 3 males 3 females. My son got 11 fox off one farm , all males, 6 off another farm 5 males.? If you figure it out let me know.
