Put up shouldn't even come into play when selling to groney. He takes a green skinned coon splits It up the middle and pins It down on the fleshing table then zip ties It in place on a wire form to dry.

Where would we be without Groenwold and other fur buyers who have their own markets and connections stepping up and expanding their fur buying at this time after the fall of NAFA? According to most people on here they would be sitting on the couch, eating junk food , and watching Fox News.

And I wonder why that Is. Here's why. On wood you can make a 40 coon a 40 inch coon but on wire it becomes a 36" coon. That will down grade you a size In grade and that will cost you money. So do you think Groney is selling a 36" and a 40" coon for the same amount? I don't, why would he? I am sure he would want the larger size. Wire gives a more uniform shape. If you take 100 people putting up coon on wood there are 50 different shaped stretchers.

every wire coon stretcher i have left i bent the shoulder area in some by bending them in at the top. i mostly use wood now. i think they look better. i have sizes marked on them.

just for the information of those who want to put up fur and sell to groenewold. they prefer the coon put up on wire stretchers over wood Sold lots of coon to them that had been stretched on wood with no issue. I agree with dirt. LLL

I put everything up on wood and I asked Groenwald if the put up was to his liking or if he wanted something done differently. He told me to keep.doing what I was doing, looked good to him.
Wish I had more time to trap....

A few years ago I had a small bunch of mink, probably 50 or so , I said what the heck send them to Groeny and the auction , I had split the piles 50/50 with those going to auction, tried to keep the sizes and condition/primeness, I even graded them on a on a sheet I kept, Groeny guys called gave me a price, I haggled a bit on the better ones and said mail the check. in the end minus the commission, the $8 dollars to ship them Spee Dee to Groeny, Groeny beat the auction average by $0.25 but I did get a top lot letter LOL
My opinion good fur will sell wherever you sell it, my dad was a fur buyer when I was a kid and I am sure the money was made on the low grade fur, more margin on lower end fur than on the good stuff, plus it did not cost as much to buy LOL
