Just received an ADC call on removing a skunk from a bathroom. I gotta say this is a definite first for me. Any ideas? My initial idea was just to use skunk pole and acetone to dispatch without spray then remove skunk. I’m open to ideas though.

Do this.
Find a tall type flat/square trashcan like you see in a kitchen.
Bring a spray bottle with water.
Place trashcan on floor laying down.
Mildly , mildly harass the skunk with slow movements and using the spray bottle to make it rain above skunk.
Skunk will go in trashcan to seek refuge.
Carefully tip trashcan up right.
Pick up and carry skunk out of house.

Then , after it is out of house , do as you please , dispatch ,release etc.

That skunk is going to be startled. I've dealt with a similar situation. except it was in a 2 car garage. I took some cat food with me, and tossed it in front of the skunk. The whole time I was there, I was talking in a calm low voice, or singing, or whatever I had to do to calm him down. Once he started eating the soft cat food (something fishy but IDK exactly what it was. I picked it up on the way to the call) I stuck him with the kill pole.

Whatever you do take a video of the procedure so you can post the disaster online. We will be anxiously waiting.

Lol....key to this whole procedure is patience, watch the skunks body language and slow down/freeze if needed.

I have done exactly as I stated in my post many times. Again , patience.

Last time I did it was with a short trash can like you find under a desk that's all I had available at the time. I did this in a parking garage. I placed the trash can open side facing the skunk and mirrored its movements with my own. As the skunk figured out if would have to try to run past me or hide. They will hide in the trash can , normal behavior because the skunk would rather retreat than confront you.
The client was watching me the whole time from a distance , he thought I was going to get sprayed. It only took a few minutes for the skunk to go in the trashcan. Client was totally impressed.

Evaluate the skunk. If it is young you are in for trouble. If it is a mature you stand a chance of nonspray.

Fact.
Young skunks are more apt to spray. Mature ones a lot more calm.

It's good to know it's on here , I did not know that. Learned something new. My fault , I like to quote the original source if at all possible. I think the trapping world and the general public owes Paul Krebaum the credit due for coming up with this formula and releasing it to the world for free.

Why not just leave it alone and open the doors-it will go out.

I've pulled skunks out of almost every room in a house. They have poor long range eyesight. They get a bit confused and lost inside a structure. Had one once in a basement that climbed the furnace and got into the suspended ceiling. That was a PIA. Had to set traps and retrieve it in the morning. Had another gig where they had gotten into a crawlspace as a contractor was putting down nutrocrete as they were sealing off the dirt area from the living area. They wander a bit , not normally towards the exit. Best to help things along. The real key is to get them out without spraying. As the old doctors code of practice ' First do no harm ' It is important to get them out without spraying , that's why people call a professional trapper.
I have grabbed skunks (with gloves) and chucked them QUICKLY into a bucket. If you do it fast enough, they are confused and don't have a chance to spray/see/aim/lock onto target before being denied a chance to know what is going on. Once inside a bucket/trashcan/covered trap they no longer have a threat/target.

People leave doors open all the time. I once caught a groundhog behind a sofa in a basement due to the garage door being left open. It was behind the sofa , I jokingly used a 'bolster set' to corral it into a cage trap. Fun gig. I have taken 3 groundhogs out of houses

Skunks will eat almost anything.If you leave a little trail of hot dog chunks,sardines,etc,they will walk right out.
Had a pet skunk once.handled quite a few nuisance ones also.Cage them and cover the cage,and you can move them anywhere as long as you don't do anything to startle them,like drop the cage.

I have done this thousands of times. Cover the trap and they are chill as long as you don't bang things around.

Funny story. I picked up a skunk from a job. Put it in the back of my truck (with truck cap ) I had to go pick up my mom as I promised to take her out for a steak dinner. I was running late from picking up the skunk. Apologized to my mom for being late. On the way to the restaurant my mom asked why I was late ( mom's are allowed to ask this question....lol ) I told her I had to pick up a skunk. She asked what I did with it. I told her it was in the back of the truck. Then , all heck broke loose....." WHAT....IT'S IN THE BACK..." freaking out because we were headed to a nice restaurant. Calmed her down , told her it was OK.....lol
No problems , had a nice dinner and drove her home. Priceless......lol

Had it happen when I was a kid my sister left the door open my dad just opened the back door and laid out a trail of cat food and had everyone leave after about an hour it worked it’s way out
But I have also had luck with a cage trap with a heavy garbage bag over it
