I buy and sell a lot of the kerosene wickies. My best one is a Dietz Crystal with the glass fount in beautiful original condition. I actually have another Dietz Crystal that I just picked up. It was painted red sometime in its life. I also have a Dietz with the copper fount. Can't remember the model and I am too lazy to get up and take it down from the shelf. I have the Dietz wickies and some of my better GPA's hanging all over the living room.

For the Backpacking stove, Coghlan makes a fuel paste that comes in a tube. A fired up little dab on top of the fuel tank will build fuel pressure a lot faster than warming the tank with your hands, as they recommend. I have a Svea 123 bought in "72" that I use for cooking while ice fishing, it has a recessed reservoir that you were suppose pour liquid fuel into and light to prime the pressure. Using the paste makes a big difference, instead of trying to pour a little liquid fuel and light it with cold fingers.

Hope you get yours working good.

With the hand pump option, a Svea will squirt a little fuel into the depression for lighting without the mess and hassle.

Thanks a lot Otzi, that paste looks handy!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I have an old Coleman Lantern, stove and dome heater. I believe they are all from the 1960s. Going through a couple old tackle boxes a while back, I found a new package of mantels for the lantern. I was going to use the lantern a few years back until I priced Coleman fuel and decided it wasn't worth it. I Couldn't find anyplace that sold white gas any more. I used the lantern when night cat fishing, the stove took to Canada every year fishing, and the heater was used when Ice fishing. Don't do any of that stuff any more so should get rid of all of them.
