The First Amendment to the Constitution says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." I guess the democrats will say that since our forefathers used the word "Congress", it's okay for other elected officials to trample the First Amendment right to free speech. I think we are close to done as a unified country. Keith

"Congress" includes all federal agencies, and also, by virtue of the 14th Amendment, state and local officials. I agree the NYC's new ordinance is an outrage to anyone who values free speech. Is anything happening with the California law that makes it a crime to use the true gender pronoun to identify someone, if they self identify with another gender and you know it?
