A high powered pellet to the noggin' works where legal. A long (10') home made catch pole with noose works well on the ones you can approach. A severe drop in temperature to near freezing temps will put them into a semi-unconscious state and catch is relatively easy. Dispatch as appropriate.

A friends father was in the Army Air Corp during World War II

and temporarily stationed on the Galapagos Islands.

He claimed they hunted and ate Iguanas to supplement their diet.

He said they tasted like CHICKEN !! laugh

I ate iguana the New Year's Day before last. It tastes okay, but is not something I would go out of my way to eat. It's vaguely chicken or pork like. A friend and customer of mine buys several hundred pounds of iguana, out of Florida a year. They come frozen whole, with the tail cut off a few inches from the base. They are made into food for zoos and private breeders of reptiles.

I don't know how they catch the iguanas. There are no pellets or bullets in them.

My friend buys massive amounts of frozen geckos and anoles too.

On year my cousin brought a pellet rifle to the keys, we quietly shot some iguanas and proceeded to clean and eat them, its not bad, I liked it.

The Florida Keys are full of them. That's where I got my experience. Some of the lizards down there are African Nile Monitor. I have seen some that were 5' long and as big around as my thigh. Those things are massive and very powerful. Be very careful with them.

Sound like some good shooting. I seen some big lizards when I was in Kenya back in 1980 when I took a tour to a wildlife area .they where some big ones.
