My daughter Hannah decided she wanted to be a soldier. She went in May to Basic and AIT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. She's a 12Bravo. Sapper!!! Couldn't be prouder of her desire to challenge herself mentally and physically. The memories on the trap line and hunting are so many. She's caught more coyotes in a season most don't see for years. I stopped letting her compete in the trap setting contests at the KFHA because she had won so many times. She decided to join the National Guard/Army because it's a family tradition. Hoorah. Three left at the house. One says Army. The other two say Marines. Lord willing!

Congrats to you and her achievement.
I'll refrain from opining on the wisdom of allowing any female into the 12 series. I hear ya. She's tougher than most dudes I know. Ultimately, it was her choice. Her goal is OCS.
Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition.

Congratulations on raising some fine kids. My son just graduated from 12B AIT and had a few females in that cycle. He said you could really pick out the males and females that grew up outside, doing chores, hunting and trapping, and the ones that joined on lark. No doubt she put many males to shame.

Clayton - what a proud moment to be pictured with two very fine young soldiers. I wish the best for both and safe travels in their careers.

Congratulations to you and your daughter. Did my basic at Fort Leonard Wood 36 years ago.

I wish her the best. I had that option offered to me due to my test scores. Like my Dad I opted not to, he's a vietnam vet, and stayed enlisted. Probably for the best since he and I don't play well with others. LOL
