Who's going to be in Lewistown in a few weeks? I will be there Friday afternoon as well as Saturday before continuing on eastward with the dogs.

See you guys there. Yeah, Allan I can already feel the chill in the air here in the mornings and evenings. Love the time of the year when summer starts to slip into fall. But I love the dead of winter even more. I'll be there... rain gear and all.

I've always found it interesting how it's a challenge to dress for our convention from year to year from warm days and cool evenings to rain with occasional snow mixed in and windy it's been really something. While we had rain up on the divide it snowed for awhile today imagine that .

Wow, snow in August... don't think I've seen that before. I have seen snow a few times in eastern Oregon, right around 4th of July.

Bring a extra 100 rounds if you do it's a great time I tried it last year, Cooper does very well on sporting clays then there's a fish fry afterwards back at the fairgrounds.

I'm setting up a table and will have a good supply of snares and snare supports and my knife sharpening equipment. I'll also have some fishing sinkers and bottom bouncers and some paddle fish sinkers too .

Cooper I will probably not make it there for the sporting clays but will definitely be there for the fish fry. I'll be the 31 year old with a black and camo Intermountain Fur Harvesters hat on and 2 bird dogs in the truck.

Dang, would be nice to go but every year the Alberta Trappers Association annual meeting is same Saturday. Seems like a guy needs to stay on top of things these days with these anti everythings. Didnt sound like much pressing this year, maybe i should reconsider!
Do you have a vendor list? How many people show up?

Bad dog I'm not aware of a vendor list just some off the top of my head are we trapem supply, Montana Trappers bag, J & M fur, Keith Gregerson , Weiser western lure , NAFA, Halseth lures , and I bring snares and snare supports and sharpen knives.
As far as people coming through the gate so to speak it's hard to say close to 250-300 + the is a busy weekend in Lewistown there is also a chokecherry festival and what the hay going on .
There's a fish fry and sporting clays shoot on Friday then demo's all day Saturday with trap setting contests and a frying pan toss for the ladies , with a general membership meeting and lunch rapping up the day is a fur fashion show banquet then auction. Sunday is a clean up day and a BOD meeting then folks traveling back home. Check out the MTA website for further information in the " Links " section listed above. Allan

Good Morning Everyone the weatherman said we have a chance of rain showers throughout the day but it should clear out this afternoon and evening in time for the sporting clays shoot I hope Cooper gets a full roster of shooters this is a benefit shoot in part for the MTA as well as the shooting sports club here in Lewistown.
With a fish fry afterwards at the trade center which is a potluck with a donation bucket with the proceeds going to the MTA which fights for the right's of trappers and the use of our renewable resources.
Last night I drove through the camping area and there's plenty of camper spots available and plenty of places for tent camping also.
Doors open and vendor set up starts at 8:00 am safe travels to all this is a fun convention with something for everyone.
