I don't believe eating them is dangerous either. might not taste good to anyone not in danger of starvation but I don't believe any animal can not be safely eaten. some parts may be harmful but not the whole animal. I know of an old cree fellow( Wasukatchee) that lived on marten when his snowmobile broke down and he couldn't get back to civilization for an extended period for supplies. Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
