Wanting to go to the obx September or October for a long weekend of fishing. Was thinking of going on an offshore trip one day and maybe a sound side or near shore the next. Maybe surf fish for a day or 2. Looking for some advice on a charter and timing when we should go. Probably be 4 guys going. Would really like some tuna and or dolphin fishing on the offshore. Near shore would be for anything. Any advise would be appreciated. Looking at going out of Oregon inlet because I am more familiar with the area.

Whenever you decide to go, you should have been there "last week". That's when they were really biting.

Expect to raise white marlin or sailfish. Wahoo and mahi will be present. Maybe a king mackerel.

Will you fish from Oregon Inlet or Hatteras Inlet?

its been a few years, but last time I went in October we fished with these guys out of Oregon inlet.

got into marlin, wahoo, macks, tuna and lots of mahi

inshore you can definitly find trout and flounder that time of year.
surf, we were after big reds, hooked a few, but don't recall that we landed any that year

I would recommend the Albatross Fleet, but I may be biased as they are kin.
